BYU Folk Dancers and Band

Alex Ranquist with his daugther Jessica. His Uncle, Max lived with Stanleys family growing up.

Jessica, Alex's daughter was in the BYU International Folk Dancers. They were here for 2 weeks. This is the Ukrainian costume, which they always danced every night, I'll try to put part of one up on a later time.

The Band is also here all summer and they also play at "Sunset by the Mississippi", they're great.
One of the favorite songs in "Rendezvous" is Willingly sung by the men, they're great.

Jessica and Melanie Ipsen came on a Church History tour and stopped by to see us and the Larsens. It was so good to see them. We are at the Log School House.

You will have to click on this picture to bring it up closer to see the temple in the back ground. This was taken at Sarah Granger Smith house

You will have to click on this to see it a couple of time. There is a very tiny
baby fawn in the grass. Yes it's Mother does come every night to get it.

The Shows Go On

Elder and Sister Larsen in Rendezvous, They have mighty FAITH. Her health isn't too good but she is so determined to do this. They are great people. We are from the same Ward and came out together. He is a Teamster and a very good one.

Leah and Ezra doing the Salty Dog Rag She is Stanley's sister and got things going so we could come out here to Nauvoo.

The brass band goes on the wagon and plays, they are so good. Sometimes Elder Williams drives the Brass Band Wagon.

Meeting Family and Friends

Candice and Jacob came Memorial Day weekend to see us and Nauvoo We couldn't spend a lot of time with them but what time we did have we had fun. We even went to a BBQ in down town Nauvoo We experienced a storm that made the street lights turn on at 10:30 in the morning, it was so dark.
I was at the Post Office and this little family came in. The sister who started the tour asked if she was a different nationality and she said she was from Ukraine. I asked where and she she said Chernivitsi (that's where Stanley was the Branch Pres.) She had moved when we got there but if was fun to talk about all the people we both knew. Lena Avramenko Steinmetz was her name. Her, her husband and children live in Omaha Neb. , he's in the service.
"Sunset by the Mississippi". We're playing jugs.

Elder Williams tells about how many people left Nauvoo when they went west to the Rocky Mountains.

Our Beautiful Nauvoo Temple at dusk.
