Odessa and Africians

This building is an illusion,it actually has a back to it. If you move a foot to the left you can see the rest of the apartment building.

When ever we stopped at a train station which happened all the time and you go on the train, these woman would come and try to sell you preserves, bread, fruit, vegetables. The only scary time I had on the train was when a man banged on our door and we opened it and he came in speaking Ukranian and holding a package and wanted to throw it in an upper compartment in our Koupa (room), of course we didn't understand so he just threw it up there and left. He said it was his coat. I wondered about it all night because they had warned us that sometimes people con'd you and you get in trouble with the law. It wasn't in the middle of the night that I had to use the restroom and saw that he was the conductor.
That's another experience going to the restroom. It is locked when they are at a station and opens up when you're moving because it just opens up on the tracks.

This is at Home Evening in our living room with the Africians that are members from our Branch. They are from Lagos, Nigeria and I told them that we met a real nice couple at the MTC, the Krupps, and to look them up when they go back home. They are going to the University here in Lviv.

Farm and Church

This is a picture of an old Russian Orthodox church out by the farm. It was in a very well to do area.

This is a picture of a lady we met when we went to look at a farm with our Branch President, Pres. Petrichko. She came up riding on the back of a flat bed wagon with two other men being pulled by a horse. She came to ask if she could have the tin on the roof of the buildings.

We went with Pres. and a Real Estate Agent. Elder Williams was on cloud nine as he was walking around on the ground.

church and home

The first one is of the church, it sits on a hill.

This is me at the front door of our building. We go in and there are business's in about 3 doors inside and we have a code to get into the apartments that people live in and we go in that door and up 3 flight of stairs.

Our apartment in the living room. There are big windows at the left that over look a parking area that is in the shape of an upside down U.

This is what is hanging in our Relief Society room at the church. It mean "Society of Help".
We had a busy day yesterday. Elder Williams got to walk over some ground out in the country with our Branch Pres. Maybe latter we can show them when I find out a little more how to do this.

Yesterday we met some of the branch members at the church and did a service project of cleaning up the grounds and surrounding area of the church. We had about 30 there. The church sets on a hill and so at the bottom of the fence to the road is what we raked and cleaned up garbage. We ended up with a whole dump truck full of sacks of garbage. Some of the Sisters had lunch for us of sandwiches, fruit and some chocolate stuff on bread, it was good. A little boy was walking by and asked what we were doing? We told him and he wanted to help. He was about 7-8 years old. He worked until about 3:00 pm and just as we were getting done a girl came and grabbed him and took him home. I thought he was part of the branch.
We finally got the other member of the Bishopric today and a Relief Society President so we're coming along.

who know if the pictures came up, they were there once, I saw them. One was the black sea, one was the couples conference and one was looking out of our apartment window of the streets of Ukranian.

Tell me how to put more than one picture on

No I haven't perfected this yet. At least I got English up above (for now). Our English class went pretty well last night. I'm sill going to try to get more pictures on.

Today is our P-Day. We cleaned the house and counted everything in the apartment that is not the landlords. I need to find a place that will develope my pictures be cause one of the branch members keep asking me for a copy. Our English class went well. We just found out that we had to teach about 3 hours before. Hopefully next time will get better. I'll try to put some more pictures on, it seems I can only put one on at a time.

I have been trying to get some pictures but my computer skills aren't very good. It was District Meetings and tonight we will be teaching an English class of 25 people and of them are 2 members.
This is a picture of all the couples at our Conference. I think if you put the arrow on the picture it will enlarge it.
I'll try to get a picture of the Black Sea.

MTC

We are still here at the MTC waiting for our visa's. We have had great experiences here learning how to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is hard for me sometimes since I'm older and my mind doesn't remember so well. We will go to Kyiv, Ukraine and end up in Lviv Ukraine helping other people and giving them hope, for this church will give you hope, and we learn so much reading the Book of Mormon, another testement of Jesus Christ.
