Sequoia's
Our zone with another zone went on June 17th, our P-day, to the Sequoia National Park. There were some bigger than these but you can't get real close because they are protected. The entrance is only about 30 miles from Visalia but then you go on a very windy road so it takes a while to get to the trees.
This is the mass of wonderful Missionaries at the base of Moro Rock taking a stop before starting our climb.
Moro Rock is made out of granite that was pushed up after thousands of years. It has 400 steps to climb and increases in elevation by 300 feet. These young people can do it easy, it took us 3 days to get over, our calves on our legs were so sore. But well worth it.
Some of our Missionaries with us and President Gelwix at the top. We could see all over.
Some wonderful sister's from the 2nd ward brought up a lunch and had it ready for us at one of the parks in the Sequoia's. We had taco's and the best sauce, I need to get their receipe, water melon and brownies.
Stan heading for the car. It was a great day.
